Here's a bit about what beauty means to me, so you can get a better idea of what my blog is going to entail...
I believe that instinct is and always will make up the fundamental core of beauty. We are attracted to certain traits and features to naturally select our optimum reproductive partner. For example health - good skin, shiny hair, a healthy weight. Genetics - symmetry, a well-proportioned figure, facial features (a small nose and chin with big eyes indicate high oestrogen levels, linked with fertility). Sex - certain features like full lips, flushed cheeks and an attractive smell mimic the signs of when we are aroused.
Yes fashion, along with other environmental factors, has had a strong influence on our perception of beauty, but to me that underlines the difference between fashion and style - fashion is past paced and ever-changing whereas style is timeless. In other words, although my theory describes the core of beauty, of course there is massive scope for individual opinions, so don't forget beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder and we are all beautiful in our own way.
My passion and expertise lies in makeup, so you'll see more makeup related posts than anything else on here. It's my favourite way to express my mood and also the way in which I feel I can enhance my natural beauty the best. Although it's something I take very seriously, I believe that makeup and taking care of our beauty should be embraced and enjoyed.
Likewise with this blog, I aim to provide in-depth product reviews, tried and tested tips and techniques and all my budget-friendly natural remedies whilst you hopefully enjoy the read! (:
All the best,
